Formation: any number of couples in two lines, M to the R and W to the L as seen from the music, numbered 1, 2, 3, etc from
the music (top of the set).

On the final step, M turns 1/2 turn CCW, W turns 1/2 turn CW, take ML/WR hold. |
| 1-8 | Odd numbered couples dance up the set back to place. 8 hopsa steps. Mesnwhile, even numbered couples (2, 4, 6, etc) step up.
M turns 1/2 turn CCW, W turns 1/2 turn CW, to face neighbour on own side. |

| 9-16 | (b) | Balancé: Beginning to the L, all M dance 8 balancé steps on the spot. Meanwhile, all W begin to R, and dance 8 balancé steps on the spot. |
| 9-16 | All turn 1/4 turn to face partner, and dance 8 balancé steps on the spot, meanwhile approaching partner. | |
| 17-24 | (c) | Sving: All couples take waltz hold, and dance 8 buzz steps on the spot. Odd numbered couples turn 2-1/2 times, even numbered couples turn 2 times. |
| 17-24 | Waltz: Couples 1 with couple 2 (and couple 3 with couple 4, couple 5 with couple 6, etc) dance turning waltz 1-1/2 times around each other, 8 waltz steps.

When the dance repeats, couple 1 dances with couple 4, couple 3 with couple 6, etc. while couples 2, 5, etc rest. |

Provenance: possibly an ecossaise: typically it has a promenade up and down the set, atypically it has 8-bar phrases while most
ecossaise have 4-bar phrases.
