1-2 (a) Advance: M1 and W1 advance, and push off partner with R hand at shoulder height. 4 running steps.
3-4   Retire & cast: M1 and W1 retire, and cast down around couple 2. 4 running steps.

5-6   Advance: M1 and W1 advance, and push off partner with L hand at shoulder height. 4 running steps.
7-8   Retire & cast: M1 and W1 retire, and cast down around couple 3. 4 running steps.
[Finish 2-3-1-4.]
1-6   Advance: M1 and W1 advance, take inside (ML/WR) hands, and run up the set to original place. 12 running steps.
7-8   Cast: M1 and W1 cast down around couple 2. 4 running steps.
[Finish 2-1-3-4.]
9-16, 9-14 (b) Armkrogsknude (elbow hook 'knot'): Couples 1 and 2, with a clap on the first beat, dance R elbow-hook 'knot', ie R elbow to partner, L elbow W with W and M with M, R elbow to partner, and finally L elbow W with W and M with M. 14 walking steps.
[Ie. turning ca 1 full turn with 4 walking steps with each elbow-hook. Finish 2-1-3-4.]
15-16   Dancers pause.
Repeat from (a) as desired.

In the 1st repeat, couple 1 dances as above with couple 3, while couple 2 rests. On the 2nd repeat, couple 1 dances as above with couple 4, while couple 2 dances as above with couple 3. Every second repeat, a new couple enters the dance. After having danced chain with the last couple, the original couple 1 stands at the end of the lines as the new bottom couple.
If there are many couples, every fifth couple may start simultaneously [ie couples 1, 5, 9 etc.]
