Provenance: The dance was originally documented by Andreas Otterstrøm around 1932, from informant Peter N. Jessen, Hellevad. The music was
transcribed by Jessen's nephew Andreas Jessen. The dance was also described by Johannes Egedal, who wrote that on the approach of the new
partner, the man would shout "godt køb" [trans: "a good buy"]. The tune is originally an old British/Scottish folksong entitled "Davy Nick Nack".
