Formation: two parallel rows of three couples each, couples 1 and 4 with backs to the front, and couples 2, 3, 5, and 6 facing front.

1-4 | (a) | With a clap on (1:1) W1 and W2 (and W4 and W5) change places, passing on the R, turning over R shoulder at opposite place. Simultaneously, M1 and M2 (and M4 and M5) also change places, but passing on the L, and turning over L shoulder at opposite place, M crossing between the women. M take first step straight forward, and then pass between the two W. 4 chassé steps. |
5-8 | Repeat (a) to return to place. | |
9-12 | (b) | All couples take 2-hand hold with partner (M have backs to front), and the rows change places with each other, passing CW but with no turns. Ie couple 1 changes place with couple 4, couple 2 with couple 5, etc. 8 small sidesteps. |
13-16 | Couples repeat (b), again passing CW around opposite couple, to return to place. | |
17-24 | (c) | Couples 2 and 5 take R-hand star between the rows, and dance 8 chassé steps CW (2 in, 4 around, 2 to return to place).
W2 W5 \/ /\ M2 M5 Meanwhile, couples 1, 3, 4, and 6 take L-hand hold with partner and dance CCW 2 full turns on the spot. 8 chassé steps. All couples finish in place. |
25-26 | (d) | Couples 1 and 2 (and couples 4 and 5) advance 4 small walking steps, finishing with a brief courtesy to opposite. |
27-28 | Couples 1 and 2 (and couples 4 and 5) retire 4 small walking steps to place. | |
27-28 | Couples 1 and 2 (and couples 4 and 5) again advance. Couples 2 and 5 make an arch and couples 1 and 4 pass under the arch and stop in front of couples 3 and 6 respectively. 8 small walking steps.
Couples 2 and 5 turn CCW on the spot, to face down the set. 4 walking steps. |

When the dance begins again, from (a), couples 1 and 3 and 4 and 6 change places. It is always the middle couples that form the R-hand star, while end couples take L-hand hold with own partner. And it is always the couples dancing towards the front that make the arch. | ||
