Formation: any number of couples in a longways set, as per following schema. Couples 2, 4, and 6 facing front, couples 1, 3, and 5 facing couples 2, 4, and 6.

Bars Part Dance progression:
1-8 (a) Couples 1 and 2 take 2-hand hold ['butterfly hold'] with opposite and dance 8 small slip steps to M1-L, M2-R.
1-8   Both couples dance 8 small slip steps back to place.
9-16 (b) Couples 1 and 2 take R-hand hold with partner and turn once round CW on the spot, 6 walking steps. Maintaining R-hand hold with partner, take L-in-L with opposite to form closed circle with W facing out, M facing in. All dance 3 small stamps.
9-16   Dropping handhold with partner, and holding L-in-L with opposite turn 1-1/2 times round CCW on the spot, 6 walking steps. Maintaining R-hand hold with opposite, take R-in-R with partner to form closed circle with W facing in, M facing out. All dance 3 small stamps. Finish with couples having changed places.
    Repeat from (a) as desired.

When the music repeats couple 1 dances with couple 4, while couple 2 stands overdances with couple 3, etc. As each couple reaches the bottom of the set, once the final circle in (b) is finished, M and W change places to finish in correct line.
