Formation: 4 couple quadrille. Head couples (couples 1 and 2) respectively have their backs to or face the music. Side couples (couples 3 and 4) stand respectively to R of couples 1 and 2.
Steps: chassé (change step), hurretrin (buzz steps), gangtrin (walk)
Bars Part Dance progression:
|:1-8:| 1 (a) Circle: All couples form closed circle and dance CW, 16 walking steps. Ditto CCW, 16 walking steps.
Note: circle CW and CCW first time only. Music plays part A twice.
9-12   (b) Gå fremmed (opføring): Head couples, holding inside hands, advance with 1 chassé, take R--in-R hold with opposite, and turn once round CW. Drop hold and retire to place, 8 walking steps.
Part (b) may also be danced with, in addition, holding L hand around opposite's upper arm at the elbow.
13-16   Side couples repeat (b).
17-24   (c) Skulti (chain): All couples, with clap on first beat (17:1) and passing partner by R shoulders, dance chain around the set without giving hands. 16 walking steps.
    Parts (b) and (c) are the same in all sequences.

Provenance:
Although an older video of sekstur fra Læsø, as well as older descriptions, note that head and side couples alternated in being first active couple in part B (see FFF version, below), none of the informants for this source could actually remember the dance having been done this way in living memory.
Sekstur and sløjfen are the two dances with sequences that have remained popular longest on Læsø, and traditionally would have been played several times in the course of an evening. Therefore musicians had several different tunes to choose from [Krak p.172]. Several musicians on the island composed their own tunes for the sekstur, such as Jens Bjørn Smith [Krak p.91]. O.C. Petersens manuscript notebook notes 6 sekstur tunes, of which 3 are included in the Krak et al book.

Formation: 4 couple quadrille. Head couples (couples 1 and 2) respectively have their backs to or face the music. Side couples (couples 3 and 4) stand respectively to R of couples 1 and 2.

1-8 1 (a) Circle: All couples form closed circle and dance CW, 16 walking steps.
9-12   (b) Opføring: Head couples take R-hand hold with opposite, and turn once round CW and return to place, 8 walking steps.
Part (b) may also be danced as follows: M gives R hand to opposite W and, lifting his hand over his head, leads her CW around himself, then retires to place while opposite W dances forwards to original place where she turns half-way round CW [over R shoulder].
13-16   Side couples repeat (b).
17-24   (c) Chain: All couples dance R-hand chain, with clap on first beat and passing partner as if giving R-hand, continue chain around the set giving L-hand to next oncoming dancer etc. 16 walking steps.
    In sequences 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 couples 3 and 4 begin part (b).
In all other respects, parts (b) and (c) are the same in all sequences.

9-12   (b) R-in-R hand turn: Head couples take R-in-R hold with opposite, and turn once round CW, 16 walking steps.
13-16   Side couples repeat (b), 16 walking steps.
    Parts (b) and (c) are the same in all sequences.
17-24   (c) Chase: All M chase CCW once round inside the set while clapping hands.
Meanwhile, all W chase CW once round outside the set while clapping hands, 16 walking steps.
1-8 2 (a) Swing: All couples take front-crossed hold with partner and turn on the spot, 16 buzz steps or slip-steps.
    Repeat from (2 (a)) as desired.
The dance finishes with all couples forming closed circle and circling CW, 16 walking steps.
