Provenance: The dance was originally documented by Andreas Otterstrøm around 1932, and originally known as 'Toilette polka' or 'Tøilette polka'. The name was changed during editing of the first edition of the FFF publication (see below) to "Tylette polka". A music director, Niels Nielsen writes that on Als the dance was also called "Stevning polka". It can also be found in a program for Sønderborg Amts Folk Dancers' legestue at Sønderborg House on the 22nd of March, 1931, in which the dances are also described. Andreas Otterstrøm has also noted that the dance was often done with free hand on hip, but that this is not a hard and fast rule.
