Dance progression:
- M begins dancing forward, W backward on utside (ML/WR) foot.
- Even though this is a polka, there is no hop.
- Steps are small, and style is smooth and relaxed.
- Step on beats (1-2), the turn, is often done with a dip. However, some dancers may dance the two quick steps on beats (1-2), and the turn on
beats (3-4).
- Couples turn one half turn on each bar, ie two bars=1 full turn.
- Couples may turn CCW, or CW, or alternating CCW and CW, while moving in RLOD (CW around the floor) or LOD (CCW around the floor).

Provenance:
On Læsø, polka is usually played quite fast (MM>112), and may be danced either CCW around the floor [in LOD] called 'rundtenom',
or CW around the floor [in RLOD] called 'forkert polka' or 'vestenom'. Individual tunes are usually tied to one or the other, either 'runtenom' or
'forkert polka aka vestenom', but there is no systematic way to distinguish one type of tune from the other. In practice, either the musician(s) or
the first couple on the floor decides whether to dance in LOD or RLOD.
