Provinance: In 1916, J. Egedal and H. Grüner Nielsen visited Mandø to record old dances. This dance was published in Grüner Nielsen's book Folkelig vals. The song is the last verse of a 'polsk' dance, published in Grüner Nielsen's book Vore ældste folkedanse on page 59.
Vip is a variation of Sønderhoning. The minister on Mandø, Henrik Bruun described dances on Mandø in 1806, and the above is his description of the dance. According to Marie Beck, who had grown up on the island, the woman's step is a polonaisetring.
