    Knytnävspolska, Åland/Ahvenanmaa
Formation: open circle of couples, M with back to centre of circle, W facing partner. Two-hand hold with partner.
Steps: polska steg 2, trampsteg (stamp), jämfotahopp (leap onto both feet)
Bars Part Dance progression:
|:1-4:| (a) Polska: In 2-hand hold, couples dance on the spot, beginning with L foot, turning CW 1-1/2 with 3 'polska steg 2' (1-3). Stamp L-R-L on the spot (4).
Couples repeat (a), turning CCW on the spot, with opposite footwork (1-4).
5 (b) Figuré: Couples drop handhold and place fists on hips, and turn a 1/4 turn to R while leaping onto both feet, L foot 'straight forward' [ie pointing at partner] and R foot perpendicular to it (5:1). Pause on (5:2-5:3).
6   Hop onto R foot while turning [1/2 turn] to L.
7-8   Repeat (b) [with opposite footwork], meanwhile shaking L fist at partner on (7:1), and R fist on (8:1).
9-10   Partners turn individually CCW on the spot, with 9 short steps beginning with L foot: count 1(L)-&(R)-2(L)-&(R)-3(L)-&(R)-4(L)-&(R)-5(L)-stamp with R foot.
Meanwhile clapping hands on each L-foot step [ie 5 times], finishing with a stamp with R foot on (10:2) while turning to L.
5-10   Repeat (b).

    Nyrkkipolska
Formation: pairs of dancers scattered anywhere on the floor there is space. Pairs of dancers need not consist of opposite genders. This is a 'fläckpolska', or an older form of polska danced on the spot, ie does not move about the floor.
Steps: polska step 2, kävelyä (walk)
Bars Part Dance progression:
|:1-4:| (a) Polska: Couples take 2-hand hold with partner and dance 3 polska steps turning CW (1-3). Turn with 3 stamps (L R L) (4). Repeat, turning CCW with 3 polska steps, and 3 stamps (R L R).
5-8 (b) Figuré: Dropping hold and place fists on hips. Jump onto both feet, turning L side to partner (5). Jump again, turning R side to partner (6). Repeat jumps (7-8), this time shaking first R fist (7) then L fist (8) at partner.
9-10   With 6 small walking steps circle CCW away from each other, clapping hands on each beat.
5-10   Repeat (b) but turning first R side to partner (7), then L side (8).
    Repeat from (a) as desired.
