| 1-4 | (a) | Riijuu: Head couples advance and retire (vastuu) to side couple to their R; meanwhile side couples turn (W with a step backwards, M with a step forwards) to facing oncoming couple on the diagonal.. 8 walking steps.
Side couples turn to face squarely into set. |
| 1-4 | Head couples advance and retire (vastuu) to opposite head couple. 8 walking steps. | |
| 5-8 | (b) | Paikanvaihto: Head couples change places as follows: W1 & M3 pass through couple 4 (couple to their R), W crossing infront of M4 and behind W4, and continuing to opposite place, while M3 passes infront of W4 and behind M4 to couple 1's place.
Meanwhile M1 & W3 change places crossing through couple 2: M1 passes infront of W2, behind M2, and to opposite place, as W3 passes infront of M2, behind W2 and continues to couple 1's original place.. |
