Serbijanotshka (aka Serberjanozka)

Country: dance in the Kroshnojärvi, Karelia (former) Finland.
Type: couple dance
Formation: open circle of couples facing in LOD. Partners stand side by side, crossed arms in front, thumb hold.
Steps: two-step, run
Music: 4/4-time

    Dance progression
upbeat   All bounce lightly in the knees during the introductory bars.
1-8 (a) All beginning with L foot, dance 8 smooth two-steps forwards in LOD.

All move backwards as follows:

9:1 (b) Hop backwards onto both feet (vigorously),
9:3   kick L foot directly frontwards while hopping on R foot.
10   Three stamping steps backwards, beginning with L foot (alternatively: 3 running steps backwards, beginning with L).
11-12   Repeat bars 9-10 with opposite footwork.
13-16   Repeat from bar 9 (altogether 4 times dancing backwards).
    Kick step may also be danced as: while hopping on R foot twice, swing L foot across R, with L knee bent (9:1), then swing L straight forward (9:3). 3 amsll running steps (10). Repeat with opposite footwork (11-12). Repeat (13-14).
    Repeat from (a) as desired.
