Formation: any number of couples in open circle, polska or waltz hold.

Walking steps, in waltz rhythm [1 step per bar], M dancing eg 4 promenade steps, W dancing one additional, ie 5 steps. Both begin with inside (MR/WL) foot.

Formation: longways set of couples in two lines, M to R as seen from the music, W to the L.
Steps: menuettivalssi/slätvals, försteg (promenade step), kävelyä/gångsteg (walk)
Bars Part Dance progression:
1-8 (a) Advance & retire: Beginning with R foot, all dance advance with 1 menuettivalssi step (1-2), take R-in-R hold with partner and dance 2 slow side steps to R (3-4).
Turn 1/2 turn CCW (over L shoulder) while dancing 1 menuettivalssi step and 2 side steps back to place, turning 1/2 turn to face into set (5-8).
1-8   Repeat (a).
9-12 (b) Cross-over: All advance, turning 1/2 turn CW on (9:2), and retire into opposite place, having passed partner by L shoulders, with 1 menuettivalssi and 2 slow walking steps.
13-16   Advance, turning 1/2 turn CW to finish back to back with partner. 1 menuettivalssi step followed by 2 stamps in place.
9-12   Advance, turning 1/2 turn CW to finish in opposite place, facing into set. 1 menuettivalssi step followed by 2 slow walking steps.
13-16   Advance, turning 1/2 turn CW on (13:2) and (14:3) to finish in original place facing partner. 1 menuettivalssi step followed by 2 stamps in place.
