Type: progressive longways set
Formation: any number of couples (at least 3 couples) in a longways set, M to L, W to R as seen from the top of the set (ie the music).
Steps: kävelyä (walk)

Bars Part Dance progression:
1-4 (a) Karkelo: Couples 1 and 2 turn to face on own side. M1 with M2 and W1 with W2 dance karkelo, curving into opposite person's place.
5-8   M1 with M2, and W1 with W2 dance karkelo as above to return to place. Finish facing partner.
9-14 (b) Piiri (circle): couples 1 and 2 form closed circle, hands at shoulder height, and dance 8 walking steps moving CW, followed by 8 walking steps moving CCW.
15-16   On the last 4 walking steps, couple 2 makes an arch through which couple 1 passes to couple 2's place, thus progressing.
1-16   Couple 1 repeats (a) and (b) with couple 3.
1-16   Couple 1 repeats (a) and (b) with couple 4, while couple 2 dances as above with couple 3..
    Repeat from (a) as desired until all couples have danced.

Steps: varvashyppely (kick-steps), kävelyä (walk) or polkka

|:1-4:| (a) Varvashyppely (kick steps): All dance 16 kick-steps facing partner, hopping onto L and kicking R foot forward.
5-8 (b) Paripyörintä (couple turn): Take two-hand hold with partner, and dance 8 walking steps turning CW on the spot.
Alternatively: dance 4 polkka steps turning CW with partner on the spot.
5-8   Take two-hand hold with corner (ie M move CW in circle, W move CCW), and dance 8 walking steps turning CCW on the spot.
[Alternatively: dance 4 polkka steps turning CCW with partner on the spot. In this case, this is not a mixer.]
    Repeat from (a) as desired.
