    Dance progression
1-4 (a) Beginning with ML/WR foot, dance 4 polkka steps, moving in LOD and turning alternately towards and away from each other.
1-4   Take two-hand hold with partner, and turn CW on the spot, 4 polkka steps. Finish facing partner, M with back to centre, and both with fists on hips.
5-8 (b) Curtsey/bow to partner (5), and clap hands 3 times (6). Repeat (7-8).
9-12   Take 2-hand hold with new partner to the R (M moves to next W in RLOD; W moves to next M in LOD), and dance CW on the spot, 4 polkka steps.
5-12   Repeat (b) with current partner. Finish by moving on to next new partner to the R.
    Repeat from (a) with new partner as desired.
     
    Simplified version
1-4 (a) Beginning with ML/WR foot, advance with 4 walking steps, moving in LOD, and retire with 4 walking steps (backwards in RLOD).
1-4   Repeat (a).
5-8 (b) Curtsey/bow to partner (5), clap hands 3 times (6). Repeat (7-8).
9-12 (c) Take 2-hand hold with partner, turn CCW on the spot with 8 walking steps.
5-8 (b) Repeat (b).
9-12 (c) M faces corner (who becomes new partner), takes 2-hand hold, turn CW on the spot, 8 walking steps.
