    Wengerka aka Vengerka, Finland
Formation: open circle of couples, facing LOD, crossed-back hand hold.
Steps: hyppya/hoppsteg (step-hop), run, vengerka/vindeliska
Bars Part Dance progression
1-2 (a) In crossed-back hold position, beginning with ML/WR foot, dance 2 step-hops forward in LOD (1), followed by 1 Vindeliska-step (2), hopping on MR/WL foot.
3-4   Dance 4 running steps, turning CCW as a couple on the spot (M backward, W forward)(3), followed by 1 Vindeliska step (4).
1-4   Repeat (a).
5-6 (b) Beginning with outside foot, and dropping hand hold, dance 2 step-hops to change places, W passing in front of M to her L, and M passing to his R (5), followed by 1 Vindeliska-step (6).
7-8   With 4 running steps, turn individually on the spot, M turning CW, W turning CCW (7), followed by 1 Vindeliska-step (8).
5-6   Repeat (b) to return to place. This time M passes in front of W moving to his L, and W to her R (5). Resume cross-back hold position, and dance 1 Vindeliska step (6).
7-8   With 4 running steps, turn individually on the spot (7), M turning CCW, W turning CW. All dance 1 Vindeliska step (8).
    Repeat from (a) as desired.

    Vindeliska I from Toorniolaakso/Tornedalen
Formation: open circle of couples, facing LOD, crossed-back hand hold.
Steps: run, vengerka/vindeliska
Bars Part Dance progression
1-2 (a) In crossed-back hold, beginning with ML/WR foot, dance 4 running steps forward in LOD (1), followed by 1 Vindeliska-step (2).
3-4   Repeat (a).
1-2 (b) Dance 4 running steps, turning CW as a couple on the spot (M forward, W backward)(1), followed by 1 Vindeliska-step (2).
3-4   Repeat (b).
5-6 (c) Beginning with outside foot, and dropping hand hold (arms hanging), dance 4 running-steps forwards and diagonally away from each other (5), followed by 1 Vindeliska-step (6).
7-8   With 4 running steps, turn individually on the spot, M turning CCW, W turning CW (7), followed by 1 Vindeliska-step.
5-6   Dance 4 running steps diagonally towards partner, and resume crossed-back hold position (5), followed by 1 Vindeliska-step.
7-8   Turn on the spot as a couple with 4 running steps (7), followed by 1 Vindeliska-step.
    Repeat from (a) as desired.

Steps: run, sivuaskelikkot (side-step), vengerka/vindeliska,
Bars Part Dance progression
1-2 (a) In 'schottish' [sic] hold, beginning with ML/WR foot, dance 4 running steps forward in LOD (1), followed by 1 Vindeliska-step (2).
3-4   Turning CCW on the spot (M backward, W forward)(3), followed by followed by 1 Vindeliska-step (4).
1-4   Repeat (a).
5-6 (b) Both dance 4 side-steps, beginning with inside foot (MR/WL) to change places, M passing behind W, without turning (5), followed by 1 Vindeliska-step (6).
7-8   Turn individually on the spot, M turning CCW and W turning CW, 4 running steps (7), followed by 1 Vindeliska-step (8).
5-6   Both dance 4 side-steps, beginning with inside foot (ML/WR) to change places, M passing behind W, without turning (5). followed by 1 Vindeliska-step (6).
7-8   Turn individually on the spot, M turning CW and W turning CCW, 4 running steps (7), followed by 1 Vindeliska-step (8).
    Repeat from (a) as desired.

Provenance: As described in a mimeograph in the archives of Björkstalaget [folk dance group] in Umeå. The mimeo is likely from the 1940s. Björkstalaget was started in 1923, and according to its anniversary pubication from 1973, this was included in a performance by the group in 1932.
