    Dance progression
1-4 (a) Vastuu: Couples 1 and 5 dance vastuu: couple 1 'loosens' handhold with partner, and couple 5 advances to between but not through couple 1 (1-2), 4 walking steps - ie couples do not change places. Both couples retire (3-4), 4 walking steps.
5-8   Repeat, now with couple 5 loosening handhold, and couple 1 advancing to between M5 and W5, and both couples retire back to place. 8 walking steps.
1-4 (b) Paripjörintä: Couples 1 and 5 take 2-hand hold with opposite, and dance 4 walking steps turning CW on the spot, followed by 4 walking steps turning CCW on the spot.
5-8   All couples take 2-hand hold with partner and dance 4 walking steps turning CW on the spot, followed by 4 walking steps turning CCW.
Finish with couple 5 facing couple 2.
6x|:1-8:|   Couple 5 repeats (a) and (b) with couple 2, then couple 3, and couple 4.
    When couple 5 has danced as above with all 4 couples, they change places with couple 4, which repeats all of the above.
