Formation: even number of couples facing couples in two lines, odd-numbered couples in one line, even-numbered couples in the other.

Bars Part Dance progression
1-2 (a) Balancé & cross-over: Couples dance 2 balancés, to R and to L.
Note: all couples begin dancing simultaneously.
3-4   Couples change places with opposite couple, 2 waltz steps.
Finish turning 1/2 turn CW (over R shoulder).
5-8   Repeat (a) [to return to original place.]
1-8   Repeat (a). Finish facing into set.
|:9-16:| (b) Clap & cross-over: With a clap [on first beat] couples cross-over with 4 waltz steps (9-12). Repeat 3 times (13-16,9-16).
Finish in waltz hold, facing in LOD.
|:17-24:| (c) Waltz: Couples dance turning waltz twice round opposite couple, 16 waltz steps.
[Odd numbered couples repeat from (a) with next even-numbered couple 'downstream' in the set. Ie, even-numbered couples move up the set, odd-numbered couples move down the set. At the top and bottom of the set, odd-numbered couples become even-numbered, and vice versa.]
The dance repeats from (a) until the top odd-numbered couple has returned to its original place,
