1-2 | (a) | Couples, starting with ML/WR foot, move out of circle (M forwards, W backwards) with 3 walking steps plus a stomp with MR/WL foot on last beat (2 &). |
3-4 | Repeat moving into circle to place (M backwards, W forwards), opposite footwork. | |
5-6 | Couples again move out of circle (M forwards, W backwards) with 3 walking steps plus a stomp on last beat (6 &). | |
7-8 | M stands still, clapping, while W turns CW on the spot with 4 walking steps. | |
1-8 | Repeat (a), beginning moving back into circle, starting with ML/WR foot, then out, etc. | |
9-16 | (b) | All M stand still, facing out of the circle, and clapping in time to the beat. Meanwhile, W, with hands on hips, dance 8 side-steps moving CW around the circle of men, then 8 side-steps CCW to pass previous partner and continue to next M to her right in the circle. |
9-16 | Take promenade hold (aka skaterr's position) with new partner, and promenade 16 walking steps in LOD. | |
Repeat from (a) as desired. |
