Provenance: A notebook by Klara Semb contains a first description, likely written in 1941, based on information from Marta Håvardson Langtvedt (born 1866), Holt, It was first published in the 1948 edition of Norske folkedansar II - turdansar. Egil Bakka conducted field research in Landvik in 1967 and 1969, and recorded a video of four dancers dancing the totur. Steps in parts (a) and (b) have been the subject of variation and revision. The tune was first published in the 1952 edition of Norske folkedansar III - slåtter, also based on information from Marta Håvardson Langtvedt, who had learned the tune in her youth from the elderly Tordis Bertrand. One of the combined dances at Nordlek 2024 in Arendal, Norway.
