Nuoruusmuisto - waltz warmup (sitting)


Type: sitting dance
Formation: individuals on chairs/wheelchairs in circle, or rows
Recordings: any slow 3-part waltz, such as Kankaan pelimannit 'Nuoruusmuisto' [YouTube]

Bars Part Dance progression:
1-16 (a) Head & neck: Slowly incline head to touch R shoulder (1-4), then L shoulder (5-8). Repeat (9-16).
1-16   Rotate head CW (1-8), then CCW (9-16).
|:17-32:| (b) Arms & shoulders: Touch fingers of both hands to shoulders. Rotate shoulder (17-20), then L shoulder (21-24). Repeat 3 times (25-32,17-32).
33-48 (c) Legs: R heel forward on floor (33), close to L foot (34), repeat (35-36). Ditto with L heel (37-40). R heel diagonally forward R (41), close to L foot (42), repeat (43-44). Ditto with L heel (37-40).
33-48   Repeat (c).
    Repeat from (a) as desired.
