Provenance: a polka variant devised by Henning Fjällman, Uddevalla, who together with Kjerstin Johansson, for many years both led and mislead the Skaftö Folkdansare. According to information received, he wove together the figures while bedridden with an undisclosed illness, and having trouble making the time pass. The dance is named after the old school, now closed, in which the folk dance group members exercised their more or less athletic pursuits. The description was refined at sessions in 1988 and 1989 with folkdance teachers from the Göteborg area. The original dance was intended for 8 couples with the two 'mills' being danced respectively as a women's R-hand star [repeat of bars 17-24 in part 2] and a men's L-hand star [repeat of bars 25-32 of part 2].
