Formation: 1 Man and 2 Women, all facing LOD. M stands in the middle, somewhat in front of the 2 W, holding a kerchief in each hand. W on the L (WL) holds kerchief in her L hand, W on the R (WR) holds kerchief in her R hand. The 2 W hold a third kerchief between them, behind M's back. Hold on kerchieves is maintained throughout.

Provenance: all steps are in waltz rhythm, and hold on the kerchief is not dropped at any point in the dance. The dance and the tune are also known in Vendsyssel, the Randers area, and Lolland-Falster. Norsk Fjeldmarch was normally followed by Den toppede høne, Læsø.
