Provenance: A schottische variant that also occurs in
tantoli [Denmark],
tantoli [Norway] and
tantoli [Sweden],
former Swedish-speaking islands of Estonia.
In Finland it occurs all over under many different names (such as kaakuri, kakkuri, kiikkuri kakkuli, tanttuli). It has been very common
in South Karelia. It is worth noting that it is one of the few dances about which there is also information from northern Finland, as far north as
Kittila and Rovaniemi.
