Provenance: The dance was recalled by Hugo Dahl from Kemiö, taught at SKY in 1901 and published in 1905 as 'klappdans'. The dance resembles the French court dance of the 1500s 'Branle de Lavandières' or 'Pyykkärebranle'. It is similar to Vanha kulta' or 'Rankankalia'. The dance and tune ccur in Sweden as klappdansen or "Här kommer vännen min och här kommer ja'". Taught by Martti Vanhapellto, in Portland OR, October, 1987.
